This video will give you a walk through of how to complete a Reiki self-healing treatment sequence. This is a standard sequence taught in Reiki 1 classes with a few alternatives added in for your consideration. This video is instructional in the Usui tradition of Reiki. If you practice other healing modalities you may also be able to use this sequence as a self-healing treatment.
The Sequence of Reiki Hand Positions
As always, begin and end your practice with a short prayer or invocation in gassho pose, asking for guidance, protection and support.
I like to start with the hands surrounding the head in the shape of a radial halo. This a healing position for the energy field around the head. Helping us to connect to our prayers.
We then move on to place the hands over the eyes, working on the third eye as well as our physical vision.
We follow this by placing the hands at the ears, clearing our ears of harsh words or sounds and allowing us to hear Divine guidance.
We move to the crown chakra with the hands next to each other, calming the mind and connecting us further to the infinite.
Next we Reiki the back of the head at the base of the skull.
The Upper Torso
Follow this with hands at the throat or one hand on the throat and one hand at the heart.
Then allow the hands to rest on the shoulders.
I like to add in the heart center as its own hand position, although this is not traditional.
Then we Reiki the diaphragm at the base of the ribs.
The Lower Torso
We follow this with the hands at the level of the navel, working on our digestive organs.
We then treat our second chakra, taking care of the water element in our body. This works on the bladder and other urinary and sex organs.
We then move to the back placing the hands at the kidney level and releasing any tension there.
This position is followed by the hands at the mid back and finally at the lower back, over the sacrum.
The Legs and Feet
We can then Reiki the tops of the thighs and the knees, giving them some love for carrying us around everyday.
We Reiki the feet and ankles to allow the energies of the Earth to connect and heal our root chakra.
We finish in the gassho position, saying a prayer of gratitude and closing for the session.
